Musical Theatre Course
3 Hour Musical Theatre Class – Weekly & Term Overview

Warm-ups: Physical, vocal, and facial warm-ups to prepare for performance

Triple threat training: Combining acting, singing, and dancing in one session

Scene work: Rehearsing scenes from musicals (dialogue, blocking, interaction)

Song performance: Working on musical theatre ensemble pieces

Dance routines: Learning choreography from well-known musicals, focusing on the choreography and building the stamina to sing and dance at the same time

Character development: Exploring characters through script and song interpretation

Integration: Practicing transitions between singing, acting, and dancing

Stagecraft: Basic understanding of staging, entrances, exits, and use of props

Vocal technique: Breathing, projection, diction, pitch accuracy

Ensemble work: Teamwork and coordination in group numbers

Performance confidence: Building stage presence and handling nerves

Feedback and reflection: Ongoing peer and tutor feedback to refine performance

Showcase preparation: Rehearsals leading to a demonstrations at the studio every term, a Full Musical at our Studio Theatre and Participation in our Extravaganza at the Alhambra Theatre
